SoCal Vintage MX Classic

This was the 2nd annual SoCal Vintage MX Classic, held at Barona Oaks California. The track layout was nice and well groomed, with slight elevation changes, perfect for this event. And if you never attended a Vintage Motocross, there is something about the atmosphere, not sure if it’s the sound of two strokes, or just being in the presence of mx heros. Even if you’re not a legend, or even raced before, it’s something not too be missed. Strolling through the pits and seeing the likes of Marty Tripes, Tommy Croft, Gary Chaplin, Steve Stackable, Jim Gibson, Ron Lechein, and Mike Bell  were just a few of who I spotted. But the main guy who dominated the day was legendary Scott Burnworth, I actually lost count of how many races he did. He would finish one race, then jump on is OSSA for the next race, then do it again, and he was the fasted guy out there.   SoCal MX Ladies from back in the day Lori Payne and Mimi Selly, were also hanging out track side. And taking pictures were legendary Photographers Dennis Cox and Scott Heidbrink, good times, good people, and great memories.
